An Autumn Midwest Getaway

Our goal in late October was Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the 95th birthday of Ted’s mom, Rosemary.  But the first stop was to fly into Minneapolis to visit friends.  Fall color was peaking and the weather was gorgeous.

We stayed with Gary and Steph got right out there to enjoy a beautiful walk in their neighborhood.

We had dinner and lots of laughter with Lynette’s family one evening.

And then another walk with Gary and Steph nearby their home.

On our last evening, we four went to the Dakota to see Loudon Wainwright III.  And then Ted and I took off for South Dakota.

In Sioux Falls, Rosemary was well-feted: we had a casual pre-party and a proper birthday party …

… and lots of fun, adventure, and celebration around the edges.

And fall was evident in Sioux Falls, too

Then we drove back to Minneapolis and flew home.

It was great to see friends and family and be reminded how beautiful the Midwest can be.
