While we were in New Orleans, we had some work done on the fifth wheel. On our return, we settled into Palm Springs Oasis RV Resort. It had nice pools and a good place to walk Abbey.
We continued exploring the Coachella Valley. We went to Tahquitz Canyon, we visited the Palm Springs Art Museum, we saw Kal David play (with surprise guests Tim Welvaars on harmonica & Naomi Adriaansz on saxaphone) at Vicky’s of Santa Fe in Indian Wells, and we saw Experience Hendrix (featuring Billy Cox, Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Dweezil Zappa, Chris Layton, Mato Nanji, Noah Hunt, Ana Popovic, Henri Brown, The Slide Brothers, and Scott Nelson) at Fantasy Springs Casino.
We visited the Living Desert in Palm Desert. There were botanical gardens and desert critters, and some critters from other parts of the world. We especially liked the Meet the Dino opportunity, though he snotted on us.
Part of our plan to stay into March was to see the desert wildflowers. With all the rain this will be a good year. Future tense. We went to Anza–Borrego Desert State Park in hopes of catching some early flowers. It was a pretty trip and we did see some flowers, but nothing like what will follow.
On our last weekend, Jackie came to visit us and her friend Sharron. Jackie and I went up the Palm Springs Aerial Tram, all four of us went to Pioneertown, and we ate a lot.
And then it was time to move on.
We’ll be in Sedona until March 16 and then we head to Phoenix for spring training and other delights.
