We left the Black Hills and made a stopover at Casper Wyoming, where the River’s Edge RV Park provided welcome respite from the drive across the plains of Eastern Wyoming.
We got a taste of western life before crossing the divide and beholding this breathtaking scene.
Our campground, as close to Grand Tetons National Park as we could get, offered lovely views.
On our various drives through the park, we saw antelope, buffalo, and a few elk (though we didn’t see a single elk in the National Elk Refuge).
The first morning we drove along the Snake River and Jackson Lake and up to Signal Mountain, stopping to visit a glacial pothole.
Then we stopped at Jenny Lake and hiked a bit around Cottonwood River and went onto the Visitor Center and had lunch nearby at Moose Junction – all with glorious views.
A couple of trips to Jackson and a side trip to Jackson Hole and Teton Village rounded out our visit.
Jackson Hole is AMAZING.
