We were fortunate to be able to come to South Dakota earlier than planned to help out Ted’s mother after a brief hospitalization. A benefit to having flexible plans and living on wheels! Since some of Ted’s siblings have been doing the lion’s share of taking care of their mother, it was great to be able to help them, too. And best of all, Ted and I got to spend a lot of quality time with his mother while she is still as mentally healthy as ever.
We stayed in the KOA campground, which was as close to Ted’s mother’s place as we could get. It was perfectly adequate.
We had a lot of opportunities to spend time with friends and family, culminating in the wedding of Ted’s niece Kelsey and Tim.
And we explored around the Sioux Falls area.
All in all, it was lovely to slow down for a few weeks and enjoy the “great faces, great places” of this part of South Dakota!
