We loved our Vermont campground — and Vermont — but needed to head back toward DC. We drove to Albany and looked around a bit, then checked into Schodack Island State Park campground across the Hudson from Albany.
The next day we traveled to Philadelphia. We stayed in a “campground” in a parking lot. Its single benefit was its close-in location and a shuttle bus to the city bus, so we didn’t have to drive and park the truck in the city. Otherwise it was just a parking lot, with water and electric hook-ups for RVs. Abbey made the best of her life on asphalt.
We had just one day in Philly so we took a tour and then wandered around on our own. At the Reading Terminal market, I had a cheese-steak sandwich and Ted managed to find a shrimp po-boy.
After our second night in the parking lot, we were happy to be heading back to Cherry Hill Campground in Washington.
